| Each year the Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Risk Management Division makes a limited liability insurance policy available to all individuals who have completed the training curriculum and have been approved and/or certified as Respite Care Providers. This insurance program is "intended to provide a plan for protecting the financial interests of foster parents and respite care providers." Providers completing training will receive a copy of this policy upon certification as a Respite Provider. It is important that the policy be read and understood. As with all insurance policies there are "certain coverage limits, policy provisions, coverage exclusions and loss reporting responsibilities." While your regional Respite Program will provide the copy of the insurance to you, questions and/or reports should be made directly to the Risk Management Division. Their toll-free telephone number is 1-800-525-1252. Forms for submitting claims will accompany the insurance policy. |
